CURRICULUM
INFANTS
Our infant day is caring and fun yet structured and engaging. As our infants become mobile and alert, teachers fill their awake time with activities that strengthen the teacher/infant bond while laying the foundation for early learning skills. From swaddling to crawling, toddling to walking, our infants will be loved and nurtured while being sung to, read to and encouraged to move throughout their classroom and gym spaces. Our infant teachers create opportunity for tummy time throughout the day and will assist them as they grow more mobile and become emerging walkers.
TODDLERS
Toddlers at the Little Red Cottage will have a day filled with movement and learning. Guided by The Louisiana Early Learning and Development recommendations for young children, activities are provided to not only create fun, but measure each child’s ability to reach developmental milestones. Our thematic curriculum is partnered with the Eric Carle, Very Ready Reading Program. Each weekly theme will be supported by appropriate children’s literature and reinforced throughout daily activities. The toddler schedule offers morning circle time, art and crafts, sensory play, music and movement, table top and manipulatives as well as early math and language building.
